TomTom Multisport Cardio At HRWC

TomTom Multisport Cardio will be available soon to deliver continuous strapless heart rate data and will be available at the Heart Rate Watch Company.

TomTom Multisport Cardio presents a viable strapless option for continuous heart rate in a GPS watch says the Heart Rate Watch Company.

“We have shied away from this segment because of perceived inaccuracies with measuring heart rate via blood flow, as opposed to the traditional strap,” says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, “We gathered together some data sets and, other than an occasional spike or drop-off, these units appeared to be pretty darn accurate within our range of tolerance.”

The Strapless Alternative

“This will now give run, bike and swim enthusiasts the opportunity to gather all their heart rate, pace and distance data without the strap,” says Squire. He adds, “You need to make sure the wristband is securely fastened around your wrist to get consistent heart rate”.

TomTom Multisport Cardio offers pacing features and five heart rate intensity zones to deliver accurate data. “The watch also contains both vibration and audible alerts with the multisport version including a bike mount,” says Squire.

“I would not rank it as right up there with the Garmin Forerunner 910XT for triathlon but for people with a high strap aversion it is a reasonably good option”, says Squire. He adds, “With a 7 hour battery life it will work fine for a half Ironman but won’t make it for a full one”.

Great Features For The Price

“I’ve always felt TomTom had some pretty nice feature sets for the price”, says Squire. He adds, “They use Bluetooth Smart for wireless data transfer, vibration alerts and the products are fairly light which makes them a good option for women”.

Pricing and Availability

The TomTom Multisport Cardio in black/red in the multi sport bundle with bike mount will be priced at 9.99 and availability looks like early May. TomTom will also make a TomTom Runners Cardio watch which will retail for 9.99 with the same strapless heart rate technology.

Call The Experts

“If you’d like to talk to a real expert about the new TomTom Multisport Cardio or TomTom Runners Cardio then simply give us a call at 866-586-7129”, says Squire. He adds, “We think you’ll appreciate what a difference it makes to actually talk to real people that test and use the products they sell.”
