Best Women’s Heart Rate Monitors For 2014 by HRWC

The best womens heart rate monitors for 2014 have been named by the Heart Rate Watch Company test staff.

The best women’s heart rate monitors have been named for 2014 by the test staff at the Heart Rate Watch Company.

“When it comes to women’s needs we are always thinking lightweight, good fit and top level functionality,” says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, “We broke these down by specific uses like the gym, cycling, running, triathlon and best activity band so we have a mix of GPS and heart rate monitor based products.”

Top Gym Heart Rate Monitor – Polar FT60

Polar FT60 offer 3 zones, calories total and from fat, advanced coaching features, a fitness test and lots of advanced functionality. “Polar integrates better at the gym than any other manufacturer,” says Squire.

Top Women’s Running Watch – Garmin 220

Garmin Forerunner 220 is the world’s lightest fully integrated GPS running watch with a battery life of 5 hours or more that delivers pace, distance and heart rate data. “This watch has a thin profile, hinged band for a great fit and offers vibration alerts, along with very accurate distance in our wheel measurement testing”.

Top Women’s Triathlon Watch – TomTom Multisport GPS

“For women we chose TomTom over the Garmin 910XT because it is much lighter, thinner and fits better,” says Squire. He adds, “There are some advanced functionalities like power meters that may lead some to the 910XT but for most women the TomTom is plenty of watch and does all three sports well.”

Top Women’s Cycling Heart Rate Monitor – Polar V650

Polar V650 is not a watch, but rather a bike computer that does heart rate data. “On a bike, bike computers are so much nicer because the screens are larger, easier to read and more comprehensive for bike use,” says Squire. He adds, “Polar’s advanced heart rate data is second to none.”

Best Activity Band With Heart Rate – Polar Loop Bundle

The Polar Loop is the world’s first activity band to offer heart rate data making it the only real way to assess activities like spinning or cycling when your wrist is static. “Polar leapt over the competition and the new Garmin Vivofit due out in March will be another interesting entry here.”
