Diminished Value of Georgia is featured on the WSB-TV Atlanta Daily 2 program

Tony Rached, Atlanta’s leading car appraiser makes an appearance on “The Daily 2” on WSB-TV

WSB-TV Atlanta recently interviewed top car appraiser Tony Rached on its “The Daily 2” program.

Mr. Rached, senior appraiser at Diminished Value of Georgia, explained the concept of diminished value and how a car owner who has recently been in an accident can regain his/her loss.

A car accident can cause devastation and serious financial loss. Diminished Value of Georgia aims to help victims recover financially by providing the necessary documents to file a diminished value insurance claim.

In the televised interview, Mr. Rached spoke with host Shannon Walshe about what happens to the value of an automobile when it has sustained damage from an accident or incident (such as fire or flood). Using model cars, Rached explains:

“So, in this case, we have a Stingray, and this car is worth ,000. You get into a bad accident. Now, the car is no longer worth ,000; it’s worth ,000. So the loss in value would be the difference between ,000 and ,000, which is in this case ,000. This is the diminished value. And that’s what you’re entitled to after an accident, from the insurance company.”

Ms. Walshe inquired, “Well, if you’re entitled to it, wouldn’t the insurance company automatically cut you a check for the difference?”

“You would think so,” answered Rached. “But most of the time it does not happen, so you have to make a demand. So when you make a demand, you present [the insurance company] with the vehicle appraisal report, and then at that point they’ll come in and tell you what you’re entitled to.”

As the interview continued, Mr. Rached described how Diminished Value of Georgia could assist after a car has been damaged in an accident. “You give us a call after the vehicle’s been repaired. We go out to inspect the car. We make sure all the repairs were done right— all the panels are aligned, and the paint is smooth all around. Then we’ll give you that appraisal report, and then you’ll submit that to the insurance company. And that’s how you get on track to actually get compensated for that loss.”

“Make sure that the body shop you pick only puts OEM parts in your car and manufactured parts in the vehicle,” Rached adds. “Make sure you get it inspected, because sometimes you wouldn’t be able to tell. Sometimes your repairs are not perfect; we’d be able to tell you what’s going on. In that case, you’d take it back to the shop for proper repairs.”

It is critical that car accident victims order an accurate and credible auto appraisal report to serve as proof-of-loss to insurance companies and help clients collect what they are rightfully owed. Consumers should look for a licensed, BBB-accredited car appraiser.

Diminished Value of Georgia offers helpful information on its website, including a diminished value calculator that assists customers in determining how much money they may be entitled to for the loss in value of their car.
